Welcome! My name is Tia Smith. I primarily sell trompe l'oeil paintings of Scottish and Irish landscapes online and through Gallery in the Vault in Wooster, Ohio and Prescott AZ. I am also the owner of The Queen of Quotes.com, which sells hand painted quotations and names, and The Decorative Artist.com, a business which provides unique decorative artwork and design consultations. Although I usually perform all of the artwork myself, I occasionally have other artists help me on large or timely projects.
I have been a decorative artist for more than 15 years. I owned Art in Design Studio, located in Orrville, Ohio, for 5 years and a second business, a retail shop called Scotland Yard, for two years.
My work offers a variety of products, such as trompe l'oeil windows, large murals, hand painted poems and quotes, faux stone and of course, my favorite, creative kids' rooms. I also offer custom painting on client's furniture.
The most frequently asked question I receive is "How much does this cost?" I estimate my jobs with a written proposal based on $50.00 an hour. Because I do such a variety of work, I have tried to include prices on the portfolio you are viewing, so you can get an approximate idea of a price for a project you may be thinking about. I charge a one time fee of $25.00 for a consultation, which will be deducted from the final bill on a booked project.
